These are required for Captain's Words to work. They support parent and staff authentication, child play sessions, paired family devices and school student sessions.

Browser speech recognition (read aloud)

Read aloud is nota Captain's Words cookie. When a child taps the microphone, the browsermay use its speech recognition service (on Chrome and Edge, often Google's servers) to turn speech into text. That processing is separate from our essential login cookies. We store the resulting text transcript with learning data, not the audio. See our privacy policy for details.

Analytics and marketing cookies

We are not currently using non-essential advertising cookies. If we add analytics or marketing cookies later, we will update this page and add consent controls where required.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but essential login and play features may stop working correctly.
